I can’t get the website I built to show up in a search for its title. How can I get crawlers to see it exists?
I've tried adding meta tags and registering the site with yahoo, but when I run a narrow search for my site, no such site is said to exist.

meta tags are pretty much crap for search engines that use crawlers to index your site. They dont help in the way yahoo indexes your site. what happens is the crawler program comes to your site and finds keywords and lists it based of that. So one key is keywords. also yahoo might not have visited your site yet cause after you request it, it takes a little time for the crawler to visit your site

Okay this is easy and free.

    Works EVERY time.

Get a free GMAIL account which has nothing to do with your name or your web site name.

Now, go to Google GROUPS and search for communities which are related to your web site.

For example if your site is about art, find groups about art.

Now everytime you add a page or make a change, post that link to that art group, even if it is in a different language.

If you really have something to offer on your site, people will start linking to it, thus building your page rank.

You can also start a Google blog at blogger and blog blog blog your updates.

Shameless, but it works very fast.
