if u want to gain some mass, your weight lifting routine will need to be centered around heavy, basic movements..
these are: dead lifts, squats, bench presses, dips, heavy barbell curls, clean and jerks, and pull overs...

do not bother with the little calf, wrist or ankle exercise crap..

if u are under weight, u will need to eat.. immediately after u lift, eat a lot of food.. escecially protein, like fish, meat, protein powder, weight-gain powder.. whole grains (brown rice, potatoes, whole wheat bread, beans)

if u eat without lifting weights, u will gain some fat, but u will not look good unless u work your muscles at least a bit...

u can make your muscles big by lifting weights like i said...

u can make your rib cage bigger.. u are at a good age to do that because your rib cage is still growing and it is easy to expand it at your age... do pull-overs for this.. take a dumb bell and arch it over your head with both hands on it.. do this while laying cross-way over a weight bench... arch it over your head... u can look up that online if u do not know how to do it...

so... lift heavy.... eat.....eat.... and then sleep well... this will work if u do it right...
good luck!!
References :
former power lifter

What are you trying to achieve?

I'd suggest increasing your protein intake (eg. lean chicken, almonds, eggs, etc) however it also depends on what level of physical activity you're doing and what other foods you're eating at the same time.

The link below might be useful
References :
http://www.trulyhuge.com/muscle_building_foods.html

Underweight and want to gain lean muscle mass?
Im 15 years old and currently underweight. Whats a good step to step plan too help me gain lean muscle mass, and not fat. Specific lists of cheap foods would be nice. and maybe a workout plan.
I'm trying to gain tone muscles and a wider chest.
I'm allergic to fish and beef.
