How much has the percent of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere gone up due to humans? I read that 0.038% of our atmosphere is carbon dioxide. Has this gone up due to human activity?
(I don't want a debate on whether global warming is real or not, just the answer to my question. thanks)
That is true. That equates to just about 400 parts per million. Humans may have added up to a hundred parts per million of that though it is unclear exactly how much. CO2 is constantly changing in concentrations. For example, as the earth warms, the ocean naturally gives off CO2 since it is less soluable in warmer water. References :
Maybe, maybe not.
We, humans in general, when we breath, emit carbon dioxide.
But the plants take that and turn it into the oxygen we breath.
Also several things like cars emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
So it is tough to say, although science is pretty sure it has, there is always room for doubt. References :
