I am strong. I've endured physical, mental, and sexual abuse and was able to put it behind me and become a good person and a good parent. I've lost loved ones to disease, and the love of my life to someone else. There are many ways of being "strong," and I really think being strong is not just a good characteristic, but it's a necessary one. Life can be hard. The only way to get through some of the really bad stuff that happens is to be strong enough to endure it and get to the other side. The only negative to being strong, from what I can see right now, is when a person becomes so strong in his beliefs that he's unwilling to see another person's point of view. Think of trees and how strong they are...but they also bend.
