BBC propoganda

So the BBC News website has a headline - “Vegetarians get fewer cancers” .

All very interesting until you actually read it and find out that this is not the whole story:

……surprisingly, the researchers also found a higher rate of colorectal cancer - a disease linked with eating red meat - among the vegetarians.

epidemiological studies are always a bit dodgy, but it is amusing that the headline was as it was rather than saying: Vegetarians get more cancer!

Does anyone have any good information on definitions for propoganda-ethical nature…and the future of propoganda?

    propaganda, yes. Here…go to http://www.freepress.net/press/release.php?id=116
its a story about how the white house has been putting out fakle news to news stations and they play it as if it were produced by them, and they never say that it was made by the government.

they try to change public opinion on their policies this way.

Another example is "24" or "COPS" on fox. on 24, jack bauer tortures people all the time, and this can desensitize the viewers to the idea of torture, and seeing it done to someone's chnildren on tv will make people think that its ok. On COPS, everybody that is stopped is obviously guilty, they always talk to the cops and confess everything. they never get away when they run on the show, All of the people who were stopped are like poor white trash or poor black people,
when the line between law enforcement and entertainment is blurred, you can pretty much count on it being used for propaganda.

Oh, and from 24, there was a lot of talk about concentration camps…and surprise, there are some being built in the united states right now. Ask yourself why?

I think wikipedia is a great place to start. Check their links at the bottom of the page especially and use terms contained within the articles for more sources and internet searches. Don't use Wikipedia for a direct source, but it organizes interesting stuff like no one else.

Reporters Without Borders rate the US at #53 in terms of Free Press.

Great subject. We've had propaganda much longer that you would think.
