Life Will Give You Whatever You Want … Eventually!

Please understand this one thing: life will give you WHATEVER you want … eventually!
What that means is you can achieve virtually anything, and life will be happy to give it to you — if you just keep asking for it. If you just keep persisting towards getting it.
Here’s a great poem:
“I bargained with Life for [...]

Doing whatever you want in life?
Many people say that the purpose to life is doing whatever you want. Having fun, picking your own career, if any career and being happy.
But how is that possible? How could you do that when society is all based on money and time about gaining bigger houses, nicer cars and expensive vacations…
I personally would like to debate and discuss for long periods of time on every issue in the world, eventually developing ideologies and how to use them in different situations.
Time and Money control us, therefore me doing what I want, would be giving up my 4.3 gpa and success in school.

the trick is to get out of that mind-trap that money and things and "success" in the conventional sense will lead to anything other then a deep sense of personal un-fullfilment and even MORE.

i once had an "awesome" job in banking, a closet full of "fashionable" clothes and a "nice" car. i was miserable. three years ago i decided i was going to be happy, no matter how it looked. now i work the night shift at a hotel, just reading and making bracelets. i spend my days playing the violin, making breakfast, playing with my kittens and having sex with my boyfriend. we live in a trailer. some people think i am a loser, but i wake up every day feeling HAPPY.

its a trap man, get out while you can.

Actually what ur talking about is very valid….. I've been saying for years how people complain about life moving too quickly because they're waiting to pay off that car or boat…."next paycheck"….. I'll pay it off in 3 years…. 22more years of mortgage and I'll be done with it. If ur not doing something you love for a living and it happens to be making you a massive amount of money, then seem as though ur wasting ur time.

When you have a GPA like that then you can pick your own career. You can do anything and having anything that you want almost. You pick a career based on two things: what makes you happy and what do you want to make.

Sounds like you want to either be a teacher or an government.

Society might think that everything is about getting the bigger and better item but not everyone. My husband makes enough that I could buy a new car but I bought a good used one. We are about to by a house; we can afford the bigger house but I am going to choose based on my needs and wants. The realtor I talked to wants me into a 3000 square foot house with land; I want something a bit smaller. I don't want to have to clean 3000 square feet or spend that much time on it or hire someone to do it or help do it. But I would rather retire earlier and pay less interest on a house.

You can choose if you want all that stuff or to bank your money and live at a lower rate. Don't let others tell you how to live.

Why can't the purpose of pulling such an excellent GPA be to eventually get into school, succeed, graduate, and pursue a field that gives you the opportunity to do what makes you happy? Perhaps a field in the UN or as an ambassador to a country if you wish to debate and discuss every issue in the world and learn to apply them in different situations?

Occasionally to do what satisfies your purpose in life you must wait until you're educated and enlightened enough to appreciate that you actually put in the effort and time to earn everything you ever wanted. It's a balance that either people strive to achieve or 'settle' for something they never wanted to begin with because they suddenly got caught up in the 'now' and felt the weight of the moment come crashing down on them. Then their lives are consumed by what they feel they 'need' to be doing.

Society's based on money and time in that some get bigger houses, nicer cars, expensive vacations, etc.; but by no means does that encompass *all* of society. Only some. Most at best. Society's partially populated with people who do what they want and enjoy every minute because they know they are doing the very thing that they wanted to do from the very beginning. These are happy people.

So what I suppose I'm saying is… keep going, you'll get there and I hate to say it, but the very best things in life do indeed come to those that wait. To add to that sentiment: Wait. Not sit idle.

U sound like my husband who always wants to debate everything…but what r u gonna do once give up school, sit @ home? Is that gonna make u happy? Do u even know what might make u happy?
I was taught to believe u go to school get good grades, take over the family business, get married, start a family, celebrate holidays w family, blah, blah, blah that was the supposed 2 make me happy. I'm 26 & only recently have I started really knowing what makes me happy & not what I what I was told to be the key to happiness, by my family or by society. I'd write more but i'm really tired, u should add Wolfchild(my husband) im sure he'll have alot more to say then i will & he's better w words than i am

How do you get a 4.3? I thought 4.0 was it. Hahaha. But idk I think society is full of crap, they say you should do what you want with your life but they also say your not going anywhere if you don't go to college. I always like the idea of anarchy but, it would never work. Haha. Idk if this is the answer you want but here it is anyway :P
