Back Squat - Sitting Back Into The Squat
Today, we’re going to talk about a very important part of back squatting and that’s “sitting back” into the squat. Of course, as before, we’re talking about the powerlifting squat or “low bar” back squat.
Why Sit Back?
Obviously, some people wonder why you need to “sit back” into the squat at all. And the reason you [...]

I haven’t exercised for quite a while and want to get back into the habit. Any suggestions?
I’ve gotten out of shape and decided it’s finally time to start getting back into shape. I used to be able to do sit-up until I couldn’t do them (now I can hardly do any), push-ups until my arms hurt (again, maybe 2 or 3), and various other exercises. I can tell I am out of shape when just doing 2×10 sets of lunges, 10 squats, and other exercises make my muscles burn. Does anyone have any suggestions as this is getting frusterating and I don’t want to give up again. I decided I want to start running again as well. Any suggestions on how to get used to that again?

First find yourself a good pump up playlist. download some new songs that you like that you ONLY let yourself listen to while your excercising. Then go outside and walk a mile or two, if this is too hard for you, try what you can, if it is too easy try jogging for 45 second intervals. do as many as you can. once you’re done with that come back and stretch for 15 minutes and do 2 sets of 5 crunches (or however many you are comfortable doing). Then continue doing this and switching it up by biking and stuff. make sure you let yourself have some fun or else you won’t stick with it. good luck!

You should go running and/or swimming.
To lose weight i think thats the most effective way.
I’m still in the process.
All i can really say is to start off slow.
Build up endurance until your at your peak.
Just add a certain amount of time or distance each day.
Repeat the same distance/time until you can do it comfortably.
Thats all i can offer.
Good luck

I really like the combination of Yoga and Pilates, Pilates in the a.m., Yoga at night. When I still could run, I did them with the running and I still felt good.
Starting back at running is just hard, but if you take small steps so that you do not have injuries, that will work best. Be patient with yourself and expect to feel tired at first.

I completely undertand this problem… but the answer is you have to cane yourself (not literally) so that your body get’s over the initial pain of the first week. Do intense cycling for 45 minutes every day for example… even though teh second day will really hurt and by the end of the week you will wish you had died the day before… then by teh time the second week comes around.. you will feel better… and you will not want ot have to go through that pain barrier again.. so you will be dedicated.. and therefore exceed your goals.
